Spotify, EA Sports test in-game music integration in Saudi Arabia

Spotify and EA Sports have launched a pilot project that allows players in Saudi Arabia to link their Spotify Premium accounts to the game EA SPORTS FC™ 25. This feature is currently available to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S users in Saudi Arabia and Australia.

🎮 An Immersive Audio Experience

Players can now listen to their music, podcasts, and audiobooks directly within the game, accessing a wide library through an integrated Spotify widget in the main menu. This integration allows for a personalized soundtrack for each moment of the game, whether building the Ultimate Team or during matches.

🔧 Key Features

  • Easy Access: Players can connect their Spotify Premium account through a new section in the main menu.

  • In-game Control: The Spotify player is accessible anywhere in the game, including the pre-match setup menu or during a pause.

  • Audio Personalization: Players have the option to replace commentary with the music of their choice.

  • Track Display: On-screen displays show the current track, which updates with every new song.

  • Track Selection: Songs can be skipped or selected at any time via the pause menu.

🌍 Aligning with Vision 2030

This initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the country’s economy by developing the video game and esports sector. The kingdom has become a growing market for video games, supported by a young, tech-savvy population.

📅 Availability and Limitations

Currently, this feature is in the testing phase and is exclusively available to Spotify Premium subscribers. It is available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Some music may not yet be accessible through this integration, and users can access the full library through the Spotify app.

This collaboration between Spotify and EA Sports offers a new dimension to the gaming experience, allowing players to personalize their soundscape and discover music while playing.
