Facebook seeks to attract young adults with new community, video features


 Facebook is making a concerted effort to attract young adults, a demographic that has largely shifted to platforms like TikTok and Instagram. To revitalize its appeal, the platform is introducing new features, including two tabs currently being tested: Local and Explore. The Local tab highlights nearby events, community groups, and local listings, while the Explore tab offers personalized content recommendations based on user interests​

Tom Alison, the head of Facebook at Meta, emphasized that young adults are increasingly using the platform during significant life transitions, such as moving to a new city or becoming parents. Facebook aims to position itself not just as a social network for family connections but as a space for expanding social networks and making new connections
