Peshawar Zalmi secured a four-run victory over Multan Sultans in the 9th edition match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) held at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Tuesday. Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Peshawar's skipper, Babar Azam, contributed with a 64-run knock, while Saim Ayub added 46 runs. Haseebullah Khan's 31 runs propelled Peshawar to a total of 204/5 in their 20 overs.
In response, Multan, chasing a target of 204 runs, reached 200 runs from their allotted overs but fell short by four runs. Iftikhar Ahmed played a commendable innings, scoring an unbeaten 60, but Multan couldn't secure the win. Usama Mir took three wickets for 32 runs, and Chris Jordan dismissed two for 33 runs.
Despite the valiant effort by Iftikhar Ahmed, Multan Sultans couldn't emerge victorious, and Peshawar Zalmi claimed the win. The top-of-the-table Multan has won six out of eight games, while Peshawar has secured victory in four out of their eight matches in the current PSL season.
