It is a feature that allows Gemini to "reason" across your personal data, enabling it to answer questions or perform tasks using information specific to you. For example, it can:
Retrieve specific details: Pull info from an old email, a photo, or a video (e.g., "What was the date of my flight reservation?" or "Find the photo of my car's license plate").
Reason across sources: Combine information from different apps to build a travel itinerary based on your past preferences or suggest books you might enjoy based on your search history.
Understand context: Connect related data, such as understanding the relationship between an email about a car service and photos you've stored of your car.
Key Highlights of the Rollout
Availability: As of mid-April 2026, it is available to subscribers of Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra in the Arab region. Google plans to extend access to free users in the coming weeks.
Privacy-Centric: The feature is turned off by default. You must manually enable it in the Gemini settings menu. You remain in total control, deciding exactly which apps to connect and having the ability to disable the feature or disconnect apps at any time.
Transparency: When Gemini uses information from your connected apps to generate a response, it aims to cite or explain the source, allowing you to verify the information.
