Saudi tech event LEAP rescheduled for late August amid Iran war

The major Saudi tech conference, LEAP, has been rescheduled from its original April dates to late summer, now set to take place from August 31 to September 3 in Riyadh. The postponement comes amid ongoing regional instability linked to the war involving Iran, which has disrupted travel, logistics, and large international gatherings across the Middle East. Organizers explained that the decision was made after consultations with partners and stakeholders to ensure strong global participation and a full programme of speakers, investors, and companies at the flagship event.

Since its launch in 2022, LEAP has quickly become one of the world’s largest technology gatherings, attracting hundreds of thousands of attendees and generating significant investment commitments. Moving the event to late August aims to maintain that momentum while addressing current security and logistical concerns in the region.

This change reflects a broader trend of major events in the Middle East being delayed or adjusted due to the conflict, as organizers balance international engagement with practical considerations around safety and accessibility.
