Safaa Ahmad, a well-known TV anchor for Syria TV, was killed on Tuesday morning during an Israeli airstrike on the Mezzeh district in Damascus, Syria. The strike, which targeted various locations in and around the capital, resulted in the deaths of three civilians, including Ahmad, and left nine others wounded. The Mezzeh district is home to many residential areas and diplomatic facilities, including the Iranian Embassy.
Ahmad had been with Syria TV since 2002, hosting popular cultural programs and talk shows, including the morning show "Sabah Al-Kheir." Her death was confirmed by the state-run Syrian news agency, SANA, which also reported that Syria's air defenses intercepted most of the Israeli missiles.
This attack is part of a larger escalation of Israeli military operations in the region, with Israel claiming it is targeting Hezbollah in neighboring Lebanon
