Several celebrities have recently showcased designs by Arab fashion designers, highlighting their influence in the global fashion industry.
Grace Van Patten, a US actress known for her roles in Netflix films and Hulu mini-series, wore the Katy Lace Sling heels by Lebanese footwear designer Andrea Wazen at the season 2 premiere of Hulu's "Tell Me Lies" in California. She paired the black heels with a baby pink slip dress.
Ellie Goulding, the British singer, donned a floor-length gown by Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad from his Resort 2025 collection. She wore the dress at the Perfect World Foundation's Honorary Conservation Award ceremony in Gothenburg, Sweden, where she received the award for her environmental efforts. Previous recipients of the award include Sir David Attenborough and Dr. Jane Goodall.
In another milestone for Arab designers, Saudi couturier Mohammed Ashi, founder of Paris-based Ashi Studio, dressed US actress Demi Moore for the cover of Variety magazine's September issue. Moore was photographed wearing a black gown from Ashi’s "Sculpted Clouds" collection showcased in his Fall 2024 Couture show. Ashi became the first couturier from the Gulf to join the Fédération de la Haute Couture in Paris as a guest member in 2023 and has since presented his collections on the official Paris Haute Couture Week calendar.
These events underscore the growing global recognition of Arab fashion designers and their contributions to the industry.
