The first look at Egyptian actor Ahmed Ezz‘s short film “Akhuya” (O brother).
It also stars Salah Abdallah, Passant Shawky, Adham Hossam, and others.
The film is scripted by Rafik Morcos and directed by prominent director Sandra Nashaat.
“Akhuya” sheds light on the important issue of bullying and the bonds within the family.
“Akhuya” marks Ezz’s first experience working on a short film and Nashaat’s comeback to the silver screen after 9 years of absence. It also witnesses the fifth collaboration between the pair.
They previously collaborated on the 2005 film “Mallaki Eskenderiya” (Alexandria Private), the 2006 film “El Rahina” (The Hostage), the 2008 film “Masgoun Transit” (Prisoner transport), and the 2012 film “Al-Maslaha” (The Deal).
The film is a part of Netflix‘s latest original Arabic-language series “Love, Life, and Everything in Between“.
It consists of 8 separate short movies and explores love in six different Arab countries: Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, and Lebanon.
“Love, Life, and Everything in Between” will be released in 190 countries subtitled in 33 languages and dubbed into 5 languages.
The films take place on Valentine’s Day, with each director telling their own story of love influenced by how romance operates in their own country, and from their own point of view.
“Love, Life, and Everything in Between” is set to debut on Netflix on March 10.
